Posted February 21st, 2006 by admin

Learn more about today’s diet and exercise planning topic; what is a tummy tuck?

Many of us have probably heard of the slang term tummy tuck. But what is the tummy tuck? Well, the correct term is abdominoplasty. The abdominoplasty is a cosmetic surgery involving the reshaping of the muscles and skin around the abdomen. Women more commonly have this procedure done because of loose, stretched abdominal skin from childbirth.

The tummy tuck can be an expensive procedure. Many things can affect how much this procedure costs. However, before considering this procedure speak to the surgeon who will be doing the procedure. Every procedure carries some risk, so speak to the surgeon about what risk this procedure carries. Pre-existing medical conditions and your overall health can affect the cost of the procedure. The cost can be affected by the need for expensive medications and an anesthetist. The cost is also affected by the region and surgeon performing the operation. The tummy tuck usually costs around a few thousand dollars.

If you are self conscious of your abdomen, then this procedure is for you. Being self conscious about your body can have repercussions on your self esteem. You should be able to look in the mirror and love what you see. Remember, look at the beauty within as well as on the outside.
