There are many ways to turn grilling into a healthy and tasty alternative to cooking. Grilling healthy also means choosing healthy foods. Grilling can be a great way to reduce fats while adding flavor. There is something very relaxing and pleasurable about grilling.

How can you make grilling a healthy experience? Try choosing foods that are low in fat. Use a marinade to keep the meat juicy and reduce the production of unhealthy carcinogens caused by cooking. Create a simple marinade of olive oil and citrus juice. Marinades can enhance your foods natural flavors as well as assist in tenderizing the food.

Avoid charring the food or overcooking the food. Avoid using starter fluid, as this can add unnecessary chemicals to your food. Instead use a starter chimney and newspaper to light your charcoal. This make a little longer to start but is healthier in the long run.

How can you reduce the risk of creating carcinogens when grilling? Trim excess fat from all foods. Use marinades based on olive oil and citrus juice. Maintain a clean grill. Do not let your grill flare up. Do not overcook foods. High heat can cause many carcinogens. However, grilling isn’t the only cooking method that causes carcinogens.
