Here are some helpful hints regarding the meals of the day. Never skip breakfast. After sleeping eight hours, the body’s metabolism is significantly decreased. However, the body is waiting for food to alert the metabolism that you are no longer in a fasting state as is the case with sleeping. Depending on the culture, most breakfast meals contain a high proportion of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates provide essential energy for growth and fuel for daily functions. Your breakfast should also include fruits and vegetables which supply essential minerals and vitamins. Finally, a good source of protein such as milk, lean meats, and low fat cheese should be included in your breakfast meal.
The lunch meal should contain more protein than breakfast. The lunch meal should be well balanced with vegetables and fruits that provide a rich source of fiber. Supper should be a smaller meal than lunch or breakfast, especially if you are trying to lose weight. You should include equal proportions of proteins and carbohydrates with a generous supply of fruits and vegetables. A healthy glass of low fat milk before bed is a super healthy way to end the day.
If you like to snack on sugar laden temptations, remember that these treats should be taken in moderation. Healthier snacks will curb your appetite until the next meal such as an apple.
