Diet and Exercise Planning: Training Break

Posted February 15th, 2006 by admin

Learn more about today’s diet and exercise planning; effectiveness of a training break.

When should you take a training break? The training break is often overlooked and under utilized. The concept will not only have you in the gym for longer periods of time, but you will recover faster.

Continual exercise keeps the body in a constant state of breakdown. Your immune system can be compromised. This will usually result in sickness. What you can do is take a 7 day break. This means no weights and no cardio. This will allow you to come back to the gym stronger. Your body will be at optimal recovery.

A training break is good for the immune system and for joint recovery. Try to take a training break every 8-12 weeks. You will find your own rhythm of break time. You will not lose any muscle in this seven day period. If you supplement, continue this during the break. Do not train, but keep yourself active.
