Diet and exercise planning can be very difficult. Many of us try and fail but this is no reason to grow comfortable with an overweight lifestyle. If you are contemplating diet and exercise planning procrastination, maybe you will reconsider after these statistics.
Northwestern University researchers performed a study on individuals who were overweight during their middle age years and continued to be overweight as they aged. These individual were not afflicted with high blood pressure or poor HDL/LDL ratios while living through their middle aged years but suffered the consequences later in life.
Among participants with normal blood pressure and cholesterol at the start, those who were obese — or grossly overweight — were 43 percent more likely than normal-weight participants to die of heart disease later on. They were also four times as likely to be hospitalized for heart disease.
Time is very important to everyone. Diet and exercise planning may be a tool we can all use to set the clock back a few health years.
