The salt and lemon gargle reduces the inflammation and pain associated with the sore throat. Mix one tablespoon of salt and the juice of half a lemon in one-half cup of warm water. You may gargle with this mixture four times daily. If you prefer, you may use one-half cup sage tea instead of plain water.
The grapefruit seed extract gargle helps relieve the inflammation of a sore throat. You mix six drops of grapefruit seed extract with a half a glass of water. When gargling this mixture, spit out after each gargle taking a fresh dose from the mixture. You may gargle this mixture as often as necessary.
