Energy and Weight Loss Supplements: Testosterone Health?

Posted November 29th, 2005 by admin

Testosterone can affect a man’s health in many ways. Read more to find out how.

Testosterone is a hormone that is found in both sexes but higher levels of testosterone are found in men. This androgenic hormone is responsible for the normal growth and development of the primary male sex and reproductive organs (penis, prostate, etc). This hormone is also responsible for the male secondary characteristics (facial hair growth and sexual desire). However, as men age their testosterone levels decline. The male menopause hits somewhere around 45 years of age. This means that many men may struggle with a decreased libido and energy.

This can have a serious consequence on male health and well-being. This can lead to depression in men. However, men suffering from this ailment can receive testosterone supplements. Whether these supplements are by injection at the clinic or in a pill form, it is important to talk with your doctor about this. You need to take your health serious. In order to do this, you doctor has to be well-informed of any medications you are taking.
