Omega-3 fats are prone to damage in cooking and food processing. This means you will not find omega-3 fats in snack foods that are convenient for you. A diet rich in omega-3 fats helps reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease. The omega-3 fats are broken down into DHA and EPA. DHA and EPA make prostaglandins that are essential for proper brain function. This affects vision, learning ability, coordination, and mood.
