Absorption Experiment

Who has Absorption Superiority?

Absorption Experiment Slideshow

The slideshow above outlines a visual experiment that was performed to help you see the absorption rate differences between liquid vitamins and pill form vitamins. The experiment was based on the assumption that vitamins and minerals must be simplified enough to pass through the permeable membrane of our mucous membrane or small intestine villi.

Items used in Experiment

  • An anonymous pill form vitamin and liquid vitamin.
  • Two coffee filters (permeable membrane equivalent).
  • 4 ounces of lemon juice (comparable to stomach acid).
  • Scale to document quantity of filtered material.
  • Two 1 ounce measuring cups.
  • Two ordinary drinking glasses.
  • Basic digestive system knowledge; stomach acid pH level is approximately 1 to 3, nutrients are absorbed through the mucous membrane and small intestine villi, digestion lasts approximately 2 to 4 hours before nutrient absorption takes place, only completely digested material is absorbed efficiently.

Liquid vitamins offer a 90% absorption rate. Pill form vitamins have up to 30% absorption rates. Many offer similar ingredients.
