Vitamins and Your Health: Beneficial Dietary Fruit

Posted February 14th, 2006 by admin

Adding fresh fruit to your diet is an excellent source of vitamins with a plethora of benefits to your health.

Fruits whether fresh or dried are full of minerals, vitamins, and enzymes that are easily digested. Fruits can be eaten raw or consumed as a fresh juice. This is an excellent way to retain and balance the moisture level in the body. However, fruits offer many other benefits as well.

Fruits contain a low level of sodium which makes fruit perfect for those who are medically required to follow a low salt or salt free diet. Fruits are also perfect for those women who are pregnant. Apricots, raisins and dates are good sources of calcium and iron. The custard apple is also an excellent source of calcium and vitamin C. If you are under the weather, consume fruits in the form of fresh juice. Fresh fruit is also a good source of fiber which helps to keep the colon healthy. Lemons, oranges, and guavas are good sources of vitamin C. Papaya is a good source of vitamin C and carotene.
