Today’s vitamins and your health focus is the benefits of breastfeeding your child. A mother’s milk is the best food one can give their child. Breast milk contains protein and nutrients that are specifically tailored to their little one’s needs. Studies have proven that breast milk protects growing children from an array of disease. Studies have also shown that breast milk helps little one’s to grow faster and healthier than those children who were not breast fed.

Lactoferrin is found in breast milk. Lactoferrin helps absorb iron and protects the intestines from harmful bacteria. This makes the digestion of breast milk easier for a little one. Babies that are breast fed show less incidence of constipation versus the formula fed counterpart. Lipases found in breast milk also help babies digest fats for baby’s growth and development. Breastfeeding your baby also helps economically. Baby formula can be quite expensive these days. The best benefit to breastfeeding your baby is the time well spent with your little one. Breastfeeding is a great time to bond with your child.

If you are having difficulty lactating, you can try the consumption of alfalfa. Alfalfa helps to increase quantity and quality of the breast milk. The consumption of fennel tea and almonds helps to increase the milk production also.
