Riboflavin is the next tree in the vitamin B complex forest. Vitamins and your health continue with the importance of Vitamin B.

Our discussion on vitamin B complex continues in the second series from vitamins and your health. Riboflavin (aka: vitamin B2) in the next link in the vitamin B complex chain. Like thiamine, riboflavin plays a key role in helping our body’s metabolize carbohydrates. This common use is one all the vitamin B complex nutrients offer which helps categorize them in this group.

One thing riboflavin offers that other members of the vitamin B complex group do not is its antioxidant properties. I know you have heard this term over and over. With the constant reference to free radical damage and antioxidants, it is easy to see the impact they have on our lives. Free radicals mean business and we need to protect ourselves in anyway we can. Oxidative stress, premature again, heart disease are all resulting from free radical damage.

Riboflavin is an influencial component in the vitamin B complex group. We are one step closer to understanding all the components of vitamin B complex and there benefits when vitamins and your health is on the line.
