Vitamins and Your Health: Vegetarian Diet

Posted February 14th, 2006 by admin

Vegetarian’s answer to vitamins and your health.

The vegetarian diet is becoming more popular throughout the world. Whether you are adopting a vegetarian lifestyle due to morals or because of weight loss is really up to you. Here are some good reasons to adopt a vegetarian diet.

A vegetarian diet which is void of meat can decrease the chance of developing diseases such as colon cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, arthritis, and gout. Toxins can accumulate in meat. Most animals that are a primary food source are herbivores which means their food source has been subjected to pesticides and chemicals.

Eating a vegetarian diet means that you will have to fill the nutritional gap with other healthy foods. It is possible to get the remaining vitamins, minerals and protein requirements from a well balanced diet. This diet needs to include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and diary products.
