Today’s weight loss tips focus is the emotional addiction many have to certain foods. Have you ever wondered if you are emotionally addicted to certain foods like potato chips? The answer to this question is very important, so think carefully. Why? This may help with choosing the right path for weight loss. Emotional addiction to food can be just as serious and just as deadly as an addiction to illegal drugs.

How can you tell if you are emotionally addicted to food? Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed with a desire for a specific food item? If you are unable to obtain this particular food item do you experience symptoms such as nausea, headaches, and even depression? A food addict finds solace in a particular food called a comfort food. A food addict may experience bouts of binge eating. Food cravings can be psychological as well as physical.

There are several different forms of food addictions. Compulsive overeating is a form of food addiction in which the individual may binge eat for several days. The food addict will lose weight but gains the weight back over time. Symptoms of a compulsive overeater include eating alone, eating quickly, and eating when they are not hungry.
