How can you change your subconscious self-image? Each time you think of your existing body picture you are recreating your subconscious imagery. Before beginning imagery training, you need to become totally relaxed to focus your mind.
Once you are completely relaxed, you need to see a picture of your body in your subconscious mind. Once your body is in focus, start reshaping your body to exactly how you want to look. See the new body down to the smallest detail. Make your image become so real that you feel you have already accomplished your weight loss goal.
Once you have pictured your new body completely, picture yourself in a physical activity that you enjoy and will benefit you in attaining your new weight loss goal. The activity can be anything (walking, playing tennis, etc.). The new you is capable of performing any activity that you enjoy.
Emotional states such as fear, guilt, and anger drive us to overeat and eat when we are not hungry. Emotional states are responsible for depression and low self esteem. When creating a new self image, exchange these negative states for a new positive state such as love.
Practice producing your new image on a daily basis. Through daily practice your new body image will become a permanent part of your subconscious. This will help you change your programmed emotional states from negative emotions to positive emotions.
