Today’s weight loss tips topic; diet effects. In the past, all diets were low fat. This may be because the U.S. Government food pyramid said that low fat was the answer to good health and weight loss. But lately all you hear about is low carb diets. The South Beach diet and Atkins diets are just a few of the low carb diets being endorsed.

A study at the University of North Carolina (International Journal of Sports Medicine 1991 April) looked at the effects of dieting and the affects on exercise. One group of athletes followed a high carbohydrate diet but also had to reduce their caloric intake. The second group of athletes followed a low carbohydrate diet but had no restrictions on caloric intake. The first group following a high carbohydrate reduced calorie diet proved to have more endurance and stamina when compared to the second group despite the reduction in caloric intake.

If you are looking to achieve permanent weight loss results, exercise is a key component to good health. Adopting an exercise routine that you enjoy can bring you benefits that are immensely immeasurable. Besides losing weight and feeling good, you are increasing your stamina and endurance. These are just a few of the great things that will happen.

Low carb diets will indeed help you lose weight but carbohydrates are the body’s primary fuel source. Whether you choose to follow a low carb diet or a low fat diet, this decision is up to you. But keep in mind that weight loss does not require you to follow a diet that you cannot foresee yourself following permanently. Weight loss tips would like you to choose a diet that is well planned and highly nutritious with a variety of foods that offers more than weight loss but good health.
