Self esteem is important for one’s health and well being. Some of us lack the confidence in even our everyday tasks. However, here are a few tips to help you build a healthy self esteem.

Surround yourself with positive people. You do not want to have negative peers. This will only foster negative feelings. It is important to think positive when trying to build one’s self esteem.

Set goals in your life. What do you want to achieve? When we set goals in life, we look forward to achieving them. When you reach your goal, reward and congratulate yourself. You deserve it!

You also need to accept self criticism. We as humans are never perfect. You need to accept the good and bad of yourself. You need to realize that the qualities you offer, can be both positive and negative. However, do not obsess over your faults. We have all heard of constructive criticism.

Sometimes we fail at the things we do. This can only make you stronger. Accept your failure, use this to succeed. Understand what made you fail. What can you do to improve yourself to be successful?
