Today’s wellness tips topic is the importance of good communication. In spite of all the means of communication available today, why is communication difficult between individuals? We are facing what is called a “generation gap.†Why is there a lack of communication between parents and their children; or between the parents themselves? Most marriages fail because of a lack of communication or the failure to communicate.
Keep the lines of communication open. Marriage requires you to listen to what your partner is saying and notice what has been left unsaid. When your loved one speaks, give your full attention. This applies to both your children and your spouse. Children do need to be guided and taught, but everyone has the right to be heard. Do not become preoccupied with formulating a response to your family when they speak. You may miss the emotional undertone that is being said.
If your communication remains poor, then age will only cause your communication to become more difficult. Five minutes of communication can solve more problems than five minutes of avoiding your loved one. The more we fail to communicate the larger our problems seem to get. Learning to master the art of communication is a benefit that your family will enjoy and appreciate. Today’s wellness tips encourages you to practice practice effective communication.
