We all tend to indulge a little too much during the holidays. Maybe for your New Year’s resolution, you will want to get healthier. However, you may tend to feel tired and sluggish. How can you change this?
You can do a detoxification program. The idea of detox is to remove the toxins from the body. Toxins can be caused by our diet, alcohol consumption, and tobacco consumption. Detoxification programs help your body to clean out toxins that have been absorbed by the skin, liver, and kidneys.
The best and most cost effective way to detox your body is to start eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. When preparing your fruits and vegetables, try not to add too many spices or oil to them. Try steaming them, thus you will retain many important nutrients that assist in detoxifying the body. Also, it is important to drink plenty of water to flush these toxins out of the body. How much is plenty? Well, you should drink at least eight glasses of water that are eight ounces each. Try to eat fruits and vegetables that have a good source of fiber.
When detoxifying the body, we absorb nutrients more effectively. Also, we revitalize our energy and stamina. You may well notice an improvement in your digestive system. You may also be able to handle stress better.
