Posted January 13th, 2006 by admin

Learn more about today’s wellness tip; the healing practice of Qigong.

Qigong (pronounced Chee Gung) is based on the concept of Chi. Chi is an inner vigor, a life force practicing increased vitality. Qigong is said to determine the course of chronic disease. Qigong integrates simple focused movements to cultivate healing, breathing, and mental wellness. The intention is to balance and unify consistency, head, and heart.

Qigong is practiced in China everyday to relieve chronic diseases such as asthma, cancer, poor circulation, diabetes, arthritis, pain, hypertension, and autoimmune diseases. This gentle form of exercise is effective in reducing stress. Guo Maya Lin’s Genus Cancer Retrieval Qigong was adopted in hospitals and centers across China for its effectiveness.

Experts believe Qigong teaches cancer patients to be patient and consistent. It is believed that Qigong activates natural healing. This exercise also helps to build an inner calmness. This should be encouraged with other therapies. This non-invasive exercise or treatment should be used as a comforting, complementary therapy.
